Tell us what this summer for the Paragon Program™ should we know about…
Ken Runkle: One of my favorite parts of the summer is our annual meeting at Longboat Key. This is a critical part of our Success Network™ and especially exciting as it’s open to the entire team.
Does that mean I should bring my entire staff?
Ken Runkle: Well, it certainly means you can. Unlike some of our doctor specific meetings, the information covered during our annual Longboat Key meeting is geared to benefit your practice at every level. I always say that this is one of the best bonus opportunities available to Paragon clients. If you decide to attend with staff, I recommend setting up an incentive structure as early as possible to motivate your team to meet key production milestones by the second quarter to determine who gets to attend. Something like a trip to Florida can be a pretty impressive motivator. The fun of healthy competition – even if only with ones self – paired with the anticipated fun of the trip itself can create an impressive boom in production during the preceding months. We guarantee that your staff won’t be disappointed once they get to Florida. Everyone can participate in the fun with engaging, family-friendly activities.
Can you describe what a typical meeting day is like?
Ken Runkle: Of course… Typically our meetings run each morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. That may seem short, but I assure you we make the most of every minute and it’s packed full of quality teaching time. You’ll want to get there early to snag a good seat and partake in a light breakfast and coffee prior to the meeting. We advise doctors to inform their staff that nice casual attire is appropriate for the meetings. It can be cool in the meeting room, so if your staff is anything like mine you may want to advise them to bring a sweater or jacket.
A Paragon photographer will be there to take team photos during breaks on Thursday or Friday. I believe this is a good time to wear your matching practice shirts or attire and get a great team photo for the office. One of my favorite parts is the group picture all attendees take after our meeting on Friday. Every year, this event is one of our best opportunities to learn and bond as a whole team.
Is there anything you recommend doing as an office before heading to Florida?
Ken Runkle: Sure, I would say first and foremost to plan ahead. This is going to be a great trip for everyone involved but you can maximize your experience by setting clear expectations with your staff beforehand. We have found that offices that hold a pre-LBK staff meeting tend to have the best trips. During this time, you can let your staff know what to expect from the meeting as well as set expectations around conduct for the duration. Make sure to cover everything you expect them to keep in mind during the week: alcohol consumption, dress code, down time, etc. One great perk is that all our accommodations have full kitchens, washers, and dryers. If you want to stock up on bottled water, snacks and sunscreen, there is a Publix a few miles away.
Any final thoughts?
Ken Runkle: Like I said, this is a great meeting and having the whole staff participate really makes this a unique experience in the Paragon Program™. Make sure that you seriously consider bringing your team to Florida this summer. I promise you don’t want to miss it.
We’ll see you there!
